Hickory (H) (Carya glabra) aka Pignut, Shagbark, Shelbark, Red or White Hickory.
The heartwood is olive brown or reddish brown in color with the sapwood being whiter in appearance. Hardest domestic wood. Great for a variety of uses where a strong wood is required. Takes a finish well and shows a pronounced beautiful grain. Specific gravity .82
